The music director has the ability to dance on stages and had won applause of the audiences on several occasions. In fact, DSP has danced in Sun Pictures Vedi film for the music of Vijay Antony. In Manmadhan Ambu, he has scored music and had also appeared with Kamal Hassan in the film playing guitar for the song's sequence of Neelavaanam. If DSP finds the script, it is said, that he would act in his own film, like the music director Vijay Antony who appeared in the film Naan. Podaa Podi- STR with Varalakshmi

By, N.Thyagarajan Silambarasan has always been a rebel with a distinct style and vision who loves to break away from the constraints of prevailing trends. This has helped him to carve his own niche in Tamil cinema and   Podaa Podi   is an example of that.  It is an engaging watch because it wins you over with its heart warming, simple charm, immensely likeable characters, and the intrinsic humour in the writing. It's the film's excellent dialogues that ensure there's never a dull moment. The story is set in London where Arjun (STR), an urbane guy with western lifestyle and superior Tamil values bumps into Nisha (Varalaxmi) a salsa dancer who is a cheerful chatterbox. It’s their journey of love, marriage and understanding each other told in a rather different manner. The debutant director Vignesh Shivan has made it a youthful romantic musical with his style of writing and presentation of each scene. It is the tongue in cheek humour in the dialogues, especiall

By, N.Thyagarajan Michael (Vijay Sethupathy), the hero of the film is a pizza delivery boy. However Anu warns him and tells him- “your moment will come”. One day Michael on a home delivery to a mysterious bungalow stumbles into something creepy that changes his life forever. Debutant director Karthik Subburaj’s premise, milieu and overall packaging of this romantic thriller make this Pizza crispy at the same time yummy. The background score and music of Santosh Narayan ( Attakathi  fame) is a major plus. The director seems to be heavily influenced by Manoj Night Shyamalan and his type of films of ‘seeing dead people’, with several nods to  The Sixth Sense  and  Shining . But Karthik has been able to create the adequate dread and suspense in the mind of the audiences – Is Michael hallucina

Trish's New play...

Image
by, Aishwarya Thyagarajan Trisha is playing Maya, an Indian girl working in a foreign country, in 'Samaran', which has Vishal in the lead role. The film is being directed by Thiru, who earlier delivered 'Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai'. "What starts as friendship between Vishal and Trisha blossoms into love. Though this sounds cliched, we have given a different treatment to the screenplay," says the director, who is optimistic about the movie's success. He adds: " Trisha will dub on her own for Samaran. There is one more heroine, Sunaina. She plays a girl from a rich family in Ooty. There is no connection between the characters of Trisha and Sunaina as per the script. But there are some interesting things." Recently, some crucial scenes for the movie were shot in Ooty. The cast and crew of 'Samaran' will soon leave to a couple of foreign countries to shoot the songs and stunt sequences for this action entertainer.
